Our Story
ONE-OF-A-KIND BABY ITEM OF OUR ERA, BORN BY NECESSITY
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Childcare can be grueling, but no innovation is sparked without its challenges. What started out as designing a baby product for parents, not just for babies, turned into a product innovation. We don’t just believe in “save your energy” baby devices, we live by them. With the right baby products, things can become a bit easier.
At our core, we maintain that all parents deserve a baby product that is simple, practical, and accessible. So, we focus on what really matters: simple but versatile designs that will make your life easier; high quality materials for durability and comfort; and enhanced safety for babies.
A LONGTIME ANTITRUST LAWYER GONE ENTREPRENEUR
THE FOUNDER
We've all heard it - “aren't you exhausted chasing your crawling baby? Just wait until they walk!” Indeed, my baby’s first steps were just the beginning. It was at a park brimming with toddlers when the idea came to life.
Founder Cindy Seunghee Hong observed the struggle parents were enduring to safeguard their children from falling, mostly by bending over. Ouch - their backs!
No one was using a device that would help them relieve their pain while protecting their wobbly new walkers. No wonder - she couldn’t find a single baby harness with a functional design and chic look.
She went further and thought it would be even better if the product could be made into an all-in-one product that offers multiple essential functions – which also means, one less thing to carry to the park.
With a sole mission to develop a multifunctional device that would save millions of parent’s backs and their energy, she put a pause on her legal career and set out on a journey to entrepreneurship.
ENLIGHTENED BY HER SON
Her 18-month-old son Doha was a huge contributor to the birth of Guillaumia, which means “cutie" in Korean when you read it in French! Being a super active boy, Doha was eager to venture out the world as soon as he took his first few steps. He refused to get in a stroller or be carried in a carrier. He needed to be free, even if that meant constantly falling after a few steps.
Cindy and her husband were in desperate search for a product that would safely guide Doha at their arm’s length. Finding no suitable product on the market, they were determined to develop one perfect for their son.
Voila - Guillaumia’s Pick-Me-Up was born, and it was a game changer for them. To this day, they heavily rely on Pick-Me-Up whenever and wherever. Now, they wish to share their “know-how” with millions of other parents - the product that has saved their back and proven to work wondrously for their son. Pick-Me-Up has transformed their pain into fun and worry to joy!
